In just five months, Climeworks has increased its capital from CHF 73 million to CHF100 million, making it the largest ever investment into direct air capture.
Founded by engineers Christoph Gebald and Jan Wurzbacher, Climeworks is one of the global leaders in carbon dioxide removal with the mission to inspire 1 billion people to act now and remove carbon dioxide from the air.
The company developed and patented a direct air capture technology that removes carbon dioxide directly from the air. It uses clean, renewable energy, thereby providing a genuinely pure carbon dioxide removal solution.
